Habitat for Humanity International
Habitat is a nondenominational Christian housing organization. It was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller. HFHI has built over 100,000 houses in 79 countries. Habitat's mission is to make sure every individual has a decent and safe place to live. www.habitat.org
National Association of Housing and Redevelopment
The NAHRO is the leading advocate of reforming communities and providing affordable housing to lower income families. Established in 1933, NAHRO has turned vacant schools, abandoned theaters, and condemned apartment buildings into affordable housing for the homeless. www.nahro.org
HUDCLIPS
HUD provides the public with fast, easy access to information and resources through HUDCLIPS on the Web. This new information service offers free access to HUD's official repository of policies, procedures, announcements, and other materials. HUDCLIPS (HUD Client Information and Policy System) contains full text searchable databases. www.hudclips.org
HUD User
In 1978 the HUD Office of Policy and Research established HUD USER, an information source for housing and community development researchers and policy makers. HUD USER is the primary source for Federal Government reports and information on housing policy and programs, building technology, economic development, urban planning, and other housing-related topics. HUD USER also creates and distributes a wide variety of useful information products and services. www.huduser.org
National Housing Trust Fund Campaign
The National Housing Trust Fund Campaign is working to establish a national trust fund that would build and preserve 1.5 million units of rental housing for the lowest income families over the next 10 years. National Low Income Housing Coalition
NLIHC is dedicated to ending America's affordable housing crisis by educating decision-makers, the media, and the public to housing needs and possible solutions. NLIHC organizes forums, builds networks, and provides publications on affordable rental housing. It also networks with other organizations to assist in the provision of reasonable renting costs and the prevention of low-income renter displacement. www.nlihc.org
